Dream Big

It doesn't hurt to dream big, right?
Alexa wanted to check out a couple of schools on her radar for college.
They just so happen to be private colleges.
Really, really EXPENSIVE private colleges.
And, of course, they were amazing!
We took tours of Pomona and Scripps, both in the Claremont Consortium of colleges.
Scripps had one of the prettiest campuses I have ever seen. In fact it is Forbes rated #4 of college campuses! Every building was unique, the rooms were furnished like they belong in Europe, and the art, fountains, and plants around the campus were gorgeous!
Oh yeah, it's a damn good school too. Amazing courses, 10 to 1 student to faculty ratio, study abroad opportunities, and SO much more.

And then there's Pomona, the largest of the Claremont Colleges. It was equally as impressive and unique. They offer many of the same things as Scripps, on a slightly larger scale. Either of them would be amazing.

So, first step, apply. Step 2, (if accepted) figure out where to get the $53,000.00 a year tuition, room and board....
Oh well, it doesn't hurt to dream big, right?

Sandra just told me about this - how fun! I enjoyed visiting several colleges when I was in high school. I've been told that there are TONS of various scholarships if one is willing to scour the internet. I think that works for some and not others, but it would be worth a try! Keep us posted.

Hey - at the rate that Arizona is raising in-state tuition, it's no bargain to stay here. So, she might as well go to one of the best schools in the country! I looked at both of those schools when I was younger. They are so beautiful! Talk about an experience. Anyway, she has a great shot at a TON of scholarships and she should research them now! Good luck!

You're giving Alexa this most precious gift...by letting her know you believe in her and that her possibilities are endless. I can't imagine what my life would have been like if I'd had a parent that believed in me like that. I'd say...in the "Mom" category...you deserve an A+, Lisa! oxox

Two amazing schools! It sounds like you guys have a lot to talk about. Wherever Alexa goes, she will be successful!

It was a big dream for Alexa to take that trip overseas, right? I say, "go for it" and figure it out later. Things will work out and you are supporting your daughter in a way that she will never forget. Having options and choices and knowing how much she is capable of is such a blessing! It will follow her no matter where she goes or what she does. Her biggest accomplishment may even be raising children in the same manner as you are.
