I learned so much about displaying items, scale, balance, and composition, color, etc. etc. etc....
It inspired me to do something, but there is so much that needs attention in our home..so I started small....
One little old chair from Craig's list. I liked the color and shape of it, and it was comfy. It needed some TLC so I gave it a good scrub and got to decorating my space:
I started with decorating a lamp purchased at Kirkland Home for $15...what a bargain! I got my inspiration (OK, totally copied) from Heidi Lynn, one of our awesome teacher at the store. I know say it all the time, but Scrapbooks Etc has the best teachers, classes, fabrics, etc...if you've never been, you really need to go!
Then, Tony repainted my table he made me years ago, and I started setting up my space:
I sewed some super easy pillows to add to the chair:
and my reading nook was complete:
I love it! It was a small step, but I am inspired to continue and do more!

This is great!! I need to style my entire house (okay, I need to CLEAN it first and foremost!), but that will probably have to wait until summer. Thanks for the inspiration!
lisa!!!! omg. SO CUTE! those pillows!! ah! sweet chair & lamp too.
So cute! I took the course too and loved it. I have yet to complete anything, but with spray paint in hand and a used patio set to update, I am excited about completing my first project this week. :)
Thanks for sharing and love the pillows!!!

Great job! I love everything...the lamp, the pillows and the Craig's list chair. I'm going to have to take that course when I get a little time on my hands!
OMG! I am in love.. They are all so stinkin cute!
I want that chair.. I never find anything that good on craig's list!
Well done! I picked up 2 matching chairs at Goodwill yesterday that I want to redo. I'm terrified, but thought I had to start somewhere. Like you, I found them the right shape and comfy and just what I was looking for for my new space. If you feel more inspiration, they are under my carport waiting for some love!
